Legal vs. Illegal: (This varies by state)
Alcohol: Some areas local by-laws make it illegal to drink alcohol in pubic places such as beaches, parks and streets. It is an offence for a person under the age of 18 to buy, receive or consume alcohol unless they are with a parent or guardian. It is illegal to drive under the influence of alcohol.
Tobacco: To sell or supply tobacco products to people under the age of 18 is considered an offence. There are laws against the marketing and advertising of tobacco products. There are also laws that restrict smoking in public areas such as shopping centres, cafes and workplaces.
Amphetamines: Use of amphetamines is restricted. They can only be prescribed by a medical practitioner for medical reasons.
Oxycodone: Oxycodone is a Schedule 8 drug. It is only legal when prescribed by a medical practitioner which must be approved by the appropriate health authority.
